sunday wrap up

I’m linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This week I’m really excited because it’s just now been almost a month since I started blogging! I am really loving it; it’s been great to meet other bloggers and nerd out about books which is my absolute favorite thing to do. SO MUCH LOVE to Evalina at Avalinah’s BooksΒ for being so helpful and amazing and my first new book blogging friend <3

I also made the ill-fated decision to re-arrange my books right before bed, got exhausted not even a quarter of the way through, and ended up throwing everything back together less than eloquently (after the books sat, semi-organized, on the floor for two days) so now I can’t find anything.

I’m trying to catch up, because I’m still 3 behind to make my yearly reading goal, according to Goodreads. But May was a pretty average reading month. Here’s to a better June!

This week has been really exciting! I bought One Of Us Is Lying and When Dimple Met Rishi, two releases I was really excited for!

I also received an ARC in the mail from Jen Klein, who had read my review of her book Shuffle, Repeat, and asked me to review this also! She sent me signed bookmarks from Shuffle, Repeat, which I ADORED so I’m dying of happiness and feel so honored to have connected with her!

ARC from Jen Klein

I did two reviews (click on the pictures to see the reviews):

One of One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus, which I had mixed feelings on! I loved the twist (the review has no spoilers, promise πŸ˜‰

The Wildling Sisters by Eve Chase, which I received an ARC of from Penguin’s First To Read program, and I did not love at all. Sadly, my first review for them had to be a little less than pleasant.

one of us is lying book novel mcmanusΒ the wildling sisters book novel

I’m going to start Summer Unscripted by Jen Klein and When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon! I am SO stoked for these two!

I also have ARC’s from NetGalley, but I have fifty days on those and I’m not as excited for them, so they’re taking the back burner! The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (I read the first chapter and I’m not yet particularly enamored with Hector, our protagonist, which may be causing some of the meh feelings.) And Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang.

I hope everyone has a great week and meets all their June reading goals!

  1. hi Savanah! Welcome to the blogosphere! Love your blog! “Don’t tell me to smile” LOL! I get that too πŸ™‚ Yes chatting with other bookworms is the best part of book blogging πŸ™‚ And yes, Evelina is top out there! She is awesome! πŸ™‚ I love visiting her blog and chatting about books with her.

I don’t have many physical books because I gave them all away when I had to move to another country [The shipping it was going to be too expensive] so I don’t spend much time now organizing πŸ˜‰

I have the ARC of One Of Us Is Lying can’t wait to get to it! So now off to read your review. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for dropping by!! Right? She has been so wonderful.

I much prefer physical books, until it’s time to move or re-organize! Then I very much wish I had been more of an e-book reader πŸ˜‰

It was pretty good! I hope you enjoy it!

  2. How fun that the author reached out to you with the next book! The signed bookmarks are really awesome. Enjoy all your new books and good luck getting caught up on your Goodreads goal. 3 behind is recoverable. Have a great week!
PS you asked about the audio for First Grave on the Right and it’s amazing. Love Lorelei King as the narrator. The only negative is that my library only has the first one in audio so I’ll be reading the rest otherwise I’d definitely keep listening.

    1. Savanah says:

Right? So, incredibly sweet of her!
And thank you, I’m two behind now, thanks to Summer Unscripted being a really quick and easy read, so yay!
Oh that’s awesome! I’ll have to see if I can get a hold of some of them πŸ™‚

  3. Jo-Ann says:

Congratulations on one month of blogging! I’ve been blogging about a month, too; still learning the ins and outs πŸ™‚ Great blog, btw!

  4. I really want to read When Dimple Met Rishi! I’ve only read praises for this book so I need to get my hands on it. Congrats on a month of blogging! That’s awesome πŸ™‚
I rarely rearrange my shelves anymore for that reason. I start and not even 5 minutes in, I’m regretting my decision LOL
    Have a lovely week πŸ™‚

I know! I’m so excited to start it!

It was seriously terrible. And even now, trying to figure out where I put things after that is a nightmare XD
